About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and engineering leadership for the Space Remote Sensing and Data Science Group, setting technical direction and research priorities.
- Design, develop, and integrate algorithms for processing and interpreting satellite and airborne sensor data.
- Lead the application of machine learning and advanced analytics to extract actionable intelligence from large geospatial datasets.
- Mentor and manage a team of scientists, engineers, and analysts, fostering collaboration across the ISR Division.
- Coordinate with external partners and stakeholders to align research efforts with national security mission requirements.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Remote Sensing, Geosciences, Computer Science, or a related field with extensive experience in data‑driven space research.
- Proven expertise in remote sensing techniques, GIS, and processing of satellite or airborne imagery.
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Python, and experience applying machine learning to geospatial data.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary research teams.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
