Solutions Architect
Solutions Architect role designing secure, reliable digital solutions for public services, leveraging cloud platforms, enterprise architecture frameworks, API integration and security best practices within an agile environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and document end‑to‑end solution architectures that meet business requirements, align with council standards and support long‑term scalability.
- Evaluate, select and integrate cloud services, platforms and third‑party products, ensuring security, performance and cost‑effectiveness.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers and operations teams to translate requirements into technical specifications, data models and API contracts.
- Provide architectural governance, conduct peer reviews and mentor technical staff on best practices, patterns and emerging technologies.
- Support agile delivery by contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement and continuous improvement of delivery pipelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and delivering complex solutions on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and modern integration approaches (REST, SOAP, event‑driven).
- Solid understanding of security principles, identity management and data protection regulations.
- Hands‑on experience with infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD pipelines and containerisation technologies.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, agile environment.
