Software Safety Engineer - APT RESEARCH, INC.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct safety and reliability analyses for aerospace software, applying standards such as DO-178C and MIL‑STD‑882.
• Develop, review, and verify safety‑critical code in C/C++ and Python, ensuring traceability to requirements.
• Create and maintain safety artifacts, including hazard analyses, safety cases, and verification plans.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to integrate safety requirements into model‑based system designs (e.g., SysML, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Support test planning and execution, analyzing results to confirm compliance with safety objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience in safety‑critical software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming for embedded systems.
• Hands‑on experience with DO-178C (or equivalent) processes and safety analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with model‑based systems engineering tools and safety standards (e.g., MIL‑STD‑882, ARP4754).
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
