Software Engineering Intern Summer 2027
Software Engineer
Internship focused on building a lightweight, model‑agnostic policy engine that governs generative AI workflows. Work with Python, ML techniques, and real‑time policy enforcement to ensure deterministic, auditable AI decisions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and extend the CTGT Policy Engine using Python, integrating with GPT‑120B OSS for real‑time decision making.
- Implement policy rules and drift‑prevention mechanisms to enforce deterministic AI behavior across diverse models.
- Collaborate with research and product teams to benchmark performance on datasets such as HaluEval and iterate on engine optimizations.
- Contribute to documentation, unit tests, and CI/CD pipelines to maintain high code quality and reliability.
- Assist in designing and prototyping new governance features that support auditability and compliance.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with machine learning libraries.
- Basic understanding of generative AI models and their deployment challenges.
- Experience with policy‑as‑code concepts or rule‑based systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
- Enthusiasm for building tools that make AI safer and more trustworthy.
