Software Engineer
Lead and mentor software development teams within the Army Software Factory, driving Agile practices, DevOps pipelines, and cloud‑native solutions using Python and AWS to deliver secure, high‑quality capabilities.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Coach multiple development squads on Agile, Scrum, and Kanban practices to improve delivery speed and quality.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Guide teams in adopting cloud‑native architectures on AWS, including serverless and containerized services.
- Mentor engineers in writing clean, testable Python code and establishing automated testing frameworks.
- Collaborate with product owners and security specialists to ensure compliance with DoD standards and secure coding guidelines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong background in Python and microservices.
- Proven track record as an Agile coach or Scrum Master in a federal or defense‑related environment.
- Hands‑on experience building and maintaining DevOps pipelines and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills, able to influence cross‑functional teams.
- Security clearance (or ability to obtain) and familiarity with DoD acquisition or cybersecurity requirements.
