Software Engineer

About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Python and Node.js that power Speechify’s text‑to‑speech engine and data pipelines.
- Build and optimize front‑end features in React for web and Chrome Extension experiences.
- Implement scalable, secure infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) and manage deployment pipelines with Docker and CI/CD tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, review code, and ensure high quality through automated testing.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve system reliability and latency.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience with Python and Node.js.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture best practices.
- Proficiency in React and modern front‑end tooling.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for building accessible, high‑impact products.
