Software Engineer
Lead the development of Speechify’s iOS core product, building high‑performance, accessible text‑to‑speech experiences using Swift, AVFoundation, and Core Data to serve millions of users worldwide.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the iOS core product, ensuring seamless integration with Speechify’s TTS engine and backend services.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define feature requirements, prioritise backlog items, and deliver high‑quality releases on schedule.
- Optimize app performance, memory usage, and battery consumption for a smooth user experience across a wide range of iOS devices.
- Write clean, testable Swift code, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers on best practices and iOS architecture patterns.
- Stay current with iOS platform updates, new frameworks, and industry trends to continuously improve the product.
Requirements
- 5+ years of iOS development experience with a strong portfolio of production apps.
- Experience building and optimizing text‑to‑speech or media playback features.
- Strong understanding of performance profiling, memory management, and battery optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset in a distributed team environment.
