Software Engineer, Hardware

As a Software Engineer, Hardware at openai, you will design and develop hardware components for AI systems, collaborating with software engineers to ensure seamless integration. You will work on the development of custom hardware and software solutions for AI applications, including the design and implementation of hardware accelerators, sensors, and other components. You will also be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the hardware components, as well as collaborating with the software engineering team to ensure that the hardware and software components work together seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop custom hardware components for AI systems, including hardware accelerators, sensors, and other components.
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
• Develop and implement hardware and software solutions for AI applications.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of hardware components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that hardware and software components meet the needs of the business.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in hardware design and development, with a focus on AI applications.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, digital logic, and embedded systems.
• Experience with hardware description languages (HDLs) such as VHDL or Verilog.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C, C++, or Python.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS.
