About the Role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Software Engineer specializing in Data to join our dynamic Data Platform team in Madrid. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and contributing to the overall data strategy that fuels our decision-making and product innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable ETL pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Operations) to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy across all data products and systems.
• Implement and manage data models in our data warehouse (Snowflake) to support analytics and reporting.
• Develop and maintain data orchestration workflows using tools like Airflow.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data platform, including the adoption of new technologies and best practices.
• Monitor data pipelines and systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Document data processes, definitions, and architectures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (preferably GCP) and tools like Snowflake, Airflow (or similar orchestration tools like Cloud Composer), Spark, Kafka, etc.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with data observability, monitoring, and alerting tools.
• Knowledge of data quality and data governance principles.
• Familiarity with BI tools like Looker.
• Experience with dbt.
