Software Engineer - Applied Research Associates, Inc

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain C++/Python code that connects physics‑based Modeling and Simulation (M&S) tools within a Digital Engineering framework.
• Integrate software components across the warfighting capability development cycle, from prototype to testing and field deployment.
• Collaborate with a small, high‑impact team of engineers and domain experts to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
• Implement version control, continuous integration, and automated testing practices using Git and Agile methodologies.
• Provide technical documentation and support for deployed systems, ensuring maintainability and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python programming on Linux platforms.
• Experience with software integration, build systems, and version control (Git).
• Familiarity with modeling and simulation concepts, preferably in defense or aerospace contexts.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently, and a collaborative mindset.
