Data Scientist
Lead the development of mission‑critical oceanographic software while applying machine learning and GIS techniques to transform complex scientific data into actionable insights for naval operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance software solutions for oceanographic data processing and analysis.
- Apply machine learning algorithms to extract patterns and predictive insights from large geospatial datasets.
- Integrate GIS tools and spatial databases to support real‑time decision making for naval missions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, optimize data pipelines, and ensure system reliability.
- Deploy and monitor applications on cloud platforms (AWS) and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Proven experience with Python, SQL, and machine learning libraries (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong background in GIS technologies and spatial data analysis.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud services (AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, mission‑critical environment.
