Software Engineer - Akamai

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain observability services that run at scale on a distributed edge cloud platform.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional scrum teams to define feature requirements and deliver production‑ready code.
• Implement robust monitoring, logging, and tracing pipelines using modern cloud‑native tooling.
• Optimize performance and reliability of services through profiling, capacity planning, and automated testing.
• Participate in incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortem documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on cloud‑native and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Go, with experience building microservices.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of observability concepts: metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for building reliable, scalable services.
