Software Development Engineer, S3 Object API - Amazon Web Services

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable S3 Object APIs that handle trillions of objects with sub‑millisecond latency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design performance‑critical components and optimize for 99.999999999% durability.
• Implement distributed algorithms and data structures to support high availability and fault tolerance across thousands of hosts.
• Conduct rigorous performance testing, profiling, and tuning to meet stringent latency and throughput targets.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment automation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in large‑scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in C++ (or Java) with a strong grasp of concurrency, memory management, and low‑level networking.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services, especially S3, and familiarity with cloud storage architectures.
• Deep understanding of performance engineering, profiling tools, and latency optimization techniques.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for building reliable, high‑performance systems.
