Software Development Engineer II , Cross Border Haul Team - Amazon.com
Software Engineer
We're looking for a Software Engineer focused on designing and building scalable technical solutions. This mid level role requires 3+ years of relevant experience.
About the role
DESCRIPTION
- Design, develop, and operate distributed systems and services that power Haul's international customer and seller experiences across multiple marketplaces (BR, MX, AU, and expanding).
- Build and own features end-to-end — from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational excellence — within one or more domains, such as Selection, Discoverability, Pricing, Promotions and CX.
- Architect solutions for worldwide launch from day one — every feature you build must support multiple marketplaces, currencies, languages, and regulatory frameworks without requiring per-country rewrites.
- Participate in the quarterly execution process: contribute to Design Forums, conduct design reviews, and deliver features within the 13-week in-quarter cadence with BRD Review, Design Review, and UAT Sign-off handshakes.
- Partner with Cross-Border domain teams (Selection/Compliance, CX & Search, Ordering, Returns, Pricing) and worldwide Haul teams (US, EU, MENA) to build on shared infrastructure while delivering Haul-specific capabilities.
- Mentor junior engineers (SDE-1s), contribute to operational excellence (on-call, runbooks, monitoring, alarms), and raise the bar on engineering practices within the team.
- Drive technical decisions that balance speed-to-market with long-term architectural sustainability — building modular, configurable platform components that can power future branding programs beyond Haul.
