Software Engineer
Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable APIs that connect Amazon Leo satellite services to U.S. Government customers, leveraging Python, AWS, and secure, mission‑critical software practices to enable real‑time space safety and sustainability solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance APIs and interfaces that expose Leo satellite capabilities to NASA, DoD, and other national security stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, architecture, and integration points for mission‑critical space safety and sustainability applications.
- Implement secure, scalable services on AWS, ensuring compliance with government security standards and best practices.
- Automate coordination with external systems and organizations, enabling rapid, reliable, and large‑scale data exchange.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API performance, reliability, and uptime in a high‑availability environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in Python and AWS services.
- Proven experience designing and deploying RESTful or gRPC APIs for mission‑critical applications.
- Deep understanding of security principles, including authentication, authorization, and data protection in government contexts.
- Experience with satellite or space‑related data pipelines is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
