Junior Software Developer
Position Summary
The Junior Software Developer is responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and supporting software solutions that align with business requirements, architecture standards, and technology strategy. The role requires a strong foundation in Angular, Spring Boot, Java, Python, AWS cloud technologies, and AI-assisted development practices. The developer will work closely with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable applications while continuously building domain knowledge and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software applications using Angular, Spring Boot, Java, and Python.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and senior developers to understand business processes, functional requirements, and technical designs.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical solutions and high-quality code.
- Write secure, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to established standards for security, logging, error handling, performance, and reliability.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Deploy and support applications on AWS cloud platforms.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, ChatGPT, or similar technologies to improve development productivity, testing, troubleshooting, and code quality.
- Participate in code reviews and implement feedback to improve software quality and maintainability.
- Support system integration, testing, and deployment activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting production issues, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, design artifacts, and operational procedures.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, reusable, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
- Follow Agile and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, source code management, and automated testing.
- Continuously learn emerging technologies, cloud-native development approaches, and AI-driven software engineering practices.
- Share knowledge with team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Make recommendations to improve application performance, operational efficiency, and development processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 to 3 years of software development experience (including internships, co-op programs, personal projects, or professional experience).
