Hands‑on Site Reliability Engineer focused on designing, operating, and securing GCP environments for federal and regulated customers, leveraging automation, security controls, and robust monitoring to ensure reliable, compliant cloud operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure GCP landing zones that protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Implement network and identity controls, including VPC, IAM, and firewall policies, to meet federal security requirements.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using IaC tools (Terraform, Deployment Manager) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Configure and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting with Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and Security Command Center.
- Apply encryption best practices for data at rest and in transit, and manage key lifecycle with Cloud KMS.
- Collaborate with development and security teams to embed SRE principles into application lifecycles.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as an SRE or DevOps engineer in a GCP environment.
- Strong knowledge of GCP services (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud IAM).
- Proficiency in automation and IaC (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or similar).
- Hands‑on experience with security controls, logging, monitoring, and incident response in GCP.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
