Simulation Engineer - Dematic
Software Engineer
Design and develop high‑fidelity simulation models of material‑handling systems, run experiments, and generate data‑driven control strategy recommendations to accelerate offers, improve project execution, and reduce risk.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and validate high‑fidelity, computer‑based models of standardized material‑handling equipment using tools such as AnyLogic, Simul8, or custom Python/MATLAB code.
- Conduct systematic simulation experiments to evaluate control strategies, throughput, and equipment utilization under varying scenarios.
- Analyze simulation outputs, produce quantitative reports, and formulate actionable recommendations for solution standardization and project risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with solution architects, delivery teams, and customers to integrate simulation insights into competitive offers and execution plans.
- Maintain a library of reusable simulation components and ensure model accuracy through continuous verification and validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with strong emphasis on simulation and modeling.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, MATLAB, C++) and experience with discrete‑event simulation platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex material‑handling processes into accurate simulation models and to interpret results for strategic decision‑making.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in control systems, automation, or logistics optimization is a plus.
