Lead the design and migration of a low‑latency, large‑scale 3D microverse platform, replacing Red5 Pro with Mediasoup while leveraging AWS, Linux, and Three.js for real‑time avatar streaming.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement a Mediasoup‑based WebRTC layer to replace the existing Red5 Pro solution, targeting million‑user scalability.
- Design end‑to‑end cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring ultra‑low latency, high availability, and on‑demand scaling.
- Integrate real‑time audio‑video avatar streaming with Three.js to render photorealistic, walkable 3D environments.
- Collaborate with backend and graphics teams to optimize Linux server performance and network throughput.
- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship for junior engineers working on real‑time streaming components.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience with WebRTC and media server technologies, preferably Mediasoup.
- Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, S3) and Linux system administration.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js and modern 3D libraries such as Three.js.
- Demonstrated ability to design and scale real‑time streaming architectures for large user bases.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
