Software Engineer
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of campus web services, leveraging JavaScript, React, Node.js, SQL, and RESTful APIs to deliver robust, accessible, and user‑centric web applications.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end development of campus web services, from architecture to deployment, ensuring alignment with IT standards and best practices.
- Design and implement scalable, maintainable code using JavaScript, React, and Node.js, integrating with SQL databases and digital media assets.
- Collaborate with UX designers to create accessible, responsive interfaces that meet ADA compliance and enhance student and faculty experience.
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests; conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards.
- Mentor junior developers, provide technical guidance, and drive continuous improvement of development processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional web development experience with a strong focus on JavaScript ecosystems.
- Proficiency in React, Node.js, and relational database design (SQL).
- Experience building RESTful APIs and integrating third‑party services.
- Solid understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design principles.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset.
