Software Engineer
Senior Trials Engineer responsible for planning, executing and analysing military vehicle test programmes across UK and overseas sites, leveraging instrumentation, data analytics and Python/MATLAB for test automation and performance evaluation.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, execution and analysis of vehicle trials, ensuring compliance with military and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain test plans, procedures and instrumentation setups for complex systems.
- Collect, process and analyse large data sets using Python and MATLAB to extract performance insights.
- Implement and oversee test automation frameworks to increase repeatability and reduce cycle times.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and external test sites, managing logistics and travel schedules.
Requirements
- Proven experience in trials or test engineering within a defence or automotive environment.
- Strong background in instrumentation, data acquisition and signal processing.
- Proficiency in Python and MATLAB for data analysis and automation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and internationally.
