Epic Games is looking for a Senior Technical Artist specializing in Unreal Engine (UE) Motion Graphics. In this role, you will be part of a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of real-time graphics and Mograph within Unreal Engine. You will combine your technical expertise with artistic vision to create stunning visual experiences, working alongside a diverse team of artists, designers, and engineers.
What You'll Do
- Develop innovative solutions for real-time motion graphics within Unreal Engine.
- Collaborate with artists and engineers to optimize workflows and tools for Mograph content creation.
- Create and maintain high-quality motion graphic assets, templates, and systems in UE.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other artists, fostering best practices and knowledge sharing.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Unreal Engine, motion graphics software, and real-time rendering technologies.
- Participate in design and implementation discussions, contributing to the overall visual quality and technical feasibility of projects.
- Help define and establish new pipelines and methodologies for creating Mograph within UE.
What We're Looking For
- Significant professional experience as a Technical Artist with a focus on motion graphics.
- Expertise in Unreal Engine, particularly with features relevant to Mograph (e.g., Sequencer, Control Rig, Niagara, Material Editor, Blueprint).
- Strong understanding of real-time rendering principles and optimization techniques.
- Proficiency with traditional motion graphics software such as After Effects, Cinema 4D, Houdini, or Nuke.
- Solid foundation in animation principles, compositing, and visual effects.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) and familiarity with CG pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A portfolio demonstrating exceptional motion graphics work, ideally showcasing projects utilizing Unreal Engine.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with other game engines or real-time platforms.
- Familiarity with visual scripting languages beyond Blueprint.
- Knowledge of various rendering techniques and their application in motion graphics.
- A passion for games and interactive experiences.
