Epic Games is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join our team in Bellevue, WA. In this role, you will bridge the gap between art and engineering, developing tools and workflows that empower artists to create stunning content efficiently within Unreal Engine.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with artists and engineers to identify pain points and develop innovative solutions for content creation pipelines.
- Design, implement, and maintain tools and scripts using Python and/or C++ within Unreal Engine and DCC applications like Maya or Blender.
- Optimize art content and workflows to ensure high performance and visual fidelity across various platforms.
- Provide technical support and guidance to artists, troubleshooting issues and educating them on best practices.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and techniques to improve our content creation process.
- Contribute to the overall technical art strategy and vision for our projects.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine, including its toolset, scripting, and rendering pipeline.
- Expertise in Python for tool development and scripting within DCC applications (Maya, Blender) and Unreal Engine.
- Familiarity with C++ for engine-level tool development or plugins is a plus.
- Deep understanding of art creation pipelines for animation, rigging, modeling, shaders, and VFX.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to artists and artistic feedback to engineers.
- A portfolio demonstrating exceptional technical art skills and relevant tool development experience.
