Epic Games is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to develop and improve animation workflows and pipelines for Epic products. This role involves collaborating with animation content teams, developing tools within Unreal Editor using Animation Blueprint, Control Rig, and Sequencer, and scripting in Python or C++ for various content creation applications.

Our team is focused on empowering artists to produce the highest quality animation using the latest technology. This role will partner with key animation stakeholders from Epic's many products to develop tools, workflows, and pipelines that drive animation quality and efficiency.
What you'll do
- Develop and improve animation workflows and pipelines for Epic products
- Collaborate with animation content teams to gather requirements, iterate on solutions, and evangelize newly developed tools and workflows
- Develop animation tools inside Unreal Editor in Animation Blueprint, Control Rig, and Sequencer
- Develop tools in Python or C++ for Maya, Visual Studio, and other content creation applications
- Support other animators in their use of our tools and pipelines by providing documentation, training, and troubleshooting assistance
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in animation technology and techniques
What we're looking for
- 5+ years experience as a Technical Animator
- Strong understanding of animation principles, rigging, and motion capture techniques
- Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine's animation tools (Animation Blueprint, Control Rig, Sequencer)
- Experience developing tools in Python
- Experience with Maya scripting and rigging workflows
- Experience working on a shipped game
- Experience with Perforce or other version control software
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with artists and engineers
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have skills
- Experience developing tools in C++ for Unreal Engine and/or Maya
- Experience with Visual Studio and debugging tools
