About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead configuration and enhancement of third‑party sales tax software, ensuring accurate tax determination and exemption handling.
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and automated reports using Python and SQL to support tax compliance and business insights.
- Collaborate with indirect tax teams to streamline daily workflows, identify process gaps, and implement data‑driven solutions.
- Own end‑to‑end data and reporting projects, from requirement gathering to deployment and documentation.
- Provide analytical support for tax audits, policy changes, and regulatory updates through robust data models and visualizations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in tax systems, data analysis, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Hands‑on experience with sales tax platforms such as Avalara or similar.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a track record of cross‑functional collaboration.
