Senior Systems Programmer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical mainframe applications and platform services, leading enhancements, performance tuning, and production issue resolution for global payment operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade mainframe applications and platform services that support global payment processing.
- Lead system enhancements, software upgrades, and performance‑tuning initiatives to improve reliability and throughput.
- Diagnose complex production incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, architecture, and security teams to ensure secure, compliant, and highly available solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, scripts, and automation for deployment and monitoring.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience programming on IBM mainframe environments (COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, z/OS).
- Proven expertise in performance tuning, capacity planning, and platform optimisation.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a track record of resolving production‑critical issues.
- Experience working in cross‑functional teams and communicating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
