About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical execution for aviation projects supporting SOF aircraft and unmanned platforms, partnering with platform Chief Engineers.
- Develop, analyze, and validate system requirements, interfaces, and performance models using DOORS and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mission systems, sensors, and weapons onto Air Force and Army aircraft.
- Perform trade studies, risk assessments, and verification/validation activities to guarantee compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience on military aviation or unmanned aerial systems programs.
- Proficiency with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML), DOORS, MATLAB, and familiarity with C/C++ for simulation and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft integration, avionics, and weapons system interfaces.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
