Senior Systems Engineer responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and communication kits while monitoring LAN/WAN performance to ensure 24/7 readiness of an integrated air‑and‑missile defense network.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and sustain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network gear within deployable communication kits.
- Monitor LAN/WAN performance, identify latency or packet‑loss issues, and execute root‑cause analysis.
- Provide real‑time troubleshooting and remediation to maintain 24/7 system readiness for air‑and‑missile defense operations.
- Implement security hardening and access controls on all network devices in accordance with defense standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate network solutions with broader system architecture and mission requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering, including hands‑on work with Cisco routing and switching platforms.
- Proven expertise in firewall configuration, LAN/WAN performance monitoring, and troubleshooting complex connectivity issues.
- Active U.S. security clearance (or ability to obtain one) and eligibility to work on classified defense programs.
- Strong understanding of deployable communication systems and their integration into mission‑critical environments.
- Excellent problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills.
