Senior Systems Engineer responsible for designing, integrating, and sustaining a secure Live‑Virtual‑Constructive (LVC) air combat training system, leveraging C++, Python, Linux, real‑time processing, and network simulation technologies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop software components for the Tactical Combat Training System Increment II (TCTS II) LVC environment.
- Integrate hardware and simulation models, ensuring secure, real‑time data exchange across live, virtual, and constructive elements.
- Lead system verification, validation, and testing activities, troubleshooting performance issues in complex distributed training networks.
- Collaborate with naval aviation stakeholders, contractors, and range operators to define requirements and deliver system upgrades.
- Provide technical mentorship, documentation, and sustainment support throughout the system lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python development on Linux platforms, with strong knowledge of real‑time operating systems.
- Hands‑on experience with networked simulation, DIS/HLA protocols, and secure communications for LVC environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work in DoD acquisition or defense training programs, including requirements analysis and system integration.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with a security clearance eligibility.
