Systems Engineer
Lead design and development of advanced naval power electronics systems, translating customer requirements into cost‑effective architectures, detailed documentation, and accurate budget proposals.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual design and development of complex power electronics and hybrid power systems for naval applications.
- Analyze customer specifications, translate requirements into system and subsystem architectures, and produce detailed technical drawings and schematics.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, interface control documents, and verification plans.
- Prepare accurate cost models and budget estimates for proposals and program milestones.
- Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure schedule and performance targets are met.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—mechanical, software, and test engineering—to integrate hardware and control solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field with 7+ years of experience in power electronics design.
- Proficiency in system architecture development, schematic capture, and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded control and firmware development.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear technical documentation and cost estimates for complex engineering proposals.
- Experience working on naval or aerospace power systems and familiarity with relevant standards and regulations.
