Systems Engineer
Senior Systems Engineer responsible for designing, integrating, and deploying mission‑critical satellite command and control services for NOAA's Space Weather Observations program, leveraging systems engineering best practices and hands‑on technical expertise.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and architecture of the Space Weather Observations Mission Operations Services (SWO‑MOS) system.
- Integrate and validate satellite Command and Control (C2) components with ground‑segment infrastructure.
- Develop, test, and deploy software and scripts on Linux platforms to support real‑time mission operations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with NOAA requirements.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers throughout the system lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 7+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Proven experience with satellite command and control systems and mission operations integration.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and scripting (Python or Bash) on Linux environments.
- Demonstrated ability to develop system architecture, conduct integration testing, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on delivering high‑quality solutions for government missions.
