Systems Engineer
Lead the IT operations team as a Senior Systems Administrator, managing and securing hybrid Windows and Linux environments, automating with PowerShell, and optimizing cloud and virtual infrastructure using VMware and AWS to support defense and intelligence missions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems across on‑prem and cloud environments.
- Implement and manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity services for secure access.
- Automate routine tasks and configuration changes using PowerShell, Bash, and configuration management tools.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and apply patches and updates to ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce network security policies, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents.
- Support virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere) and cloud services (AWS) to optimize resource utilization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration with a focus on Windows and Linux platforms.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash.
- Hands‑on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management.
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere and AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM).
- Solid understanding of network security principles and incident response.
