About the role
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive system safety programs across the product lifecycle, from program initiation through production, demilitarization, and final disposal.
Conduct hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety reviews, translating findings into actionable design constraints and safety requirements.
Ensure full compliance with MIL‑STD‑882E and other relevant safety standards, documenting processes and outcomes.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—engineering, quality, and program management—to integrate safety considerations into design, development, and manufacturing.
Lead safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions, providing guidance and training to stakeholders on safety best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 8 years of experience in system safety within defense or aerospace environments.
In‑depth knowledge of MIL‑STD‑882E, hazard analysis techniques, and risk management processes.
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to convey complex safety concepts to diverse audiences.
Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one within 90 days.
