About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive safety analyses, including FMEA, fault tree, and hazard assessments for complex aerospace systems.
- Develop and maintain safety lifecycle documentation, ensuring alignment with industry standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, and ISO 26262.
- Lead safety verification activities, coordinate cross‑functional reviews, and manage safety case development for certification and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams on safety requirements, risk mitigation, and design validation.
- Collaborate with program management to integrate safety considerations into project schedules and budgets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in system safety for aerospace or defense environments.
- Proven expertise in safety analysis tools, safety lifecycle processes, and safety certification.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.
- U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain).
