Senior System Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining RACF security on z/OS platforms, ensuring compliance, performance, and reliability for mission‑critical mainframe environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and administer RACF security policies across z/OS systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and internal controls.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to integrate security requirements into new and existing mainframe applications.
- Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities, documenting findings and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain JCL scripts, COBOL programs, and automation tools to streamline security operations and reporting.
- Provide expert guidance on incident response, access management, and disaster recovery for mainframe environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe security, with deep knowledge of RACF, z/OS, and related technologies.
- Proficiency in JCL, COBOL, and shell scripting for mainframe automation.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to troubleshoot complex security issues and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for cross‑functional teamwork.
