Systems Engineer
Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of IBM z/OS mainframe environments, ensuring security with RACF, optimizing batch and transaction processing, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑availability solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain z/OS systems, including RACF, CICS, and DB2 components, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain JCL scripts, COBOL programs, and other mainframe applications, applying best practices for coding, testing, and documentation.
- Configure and manage security policies, access controls, and audit trails within RACF to meet regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, and operations teams to troubleshoot incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery exercises to guarantee continuous service availability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with IBM z/OS, RACF, and related mainframe technologies.
- Proficiency in JCL, COBOL, CICS, and DB2, with a strong understanding of batch and transaction processing.
- Solid knowledge of mainframe security concepts, including RACF configuration, key management, and audit procedures.
- Experience with performance monitoring tools (e.g., IBM OMEGAMON, CA-7) and capacity planning.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
