About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement safety‑critical subsystems for generalist robots, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal safety protocols.
- Collaborate with research, hardware, and software teams to integrate state‑of‑the‑art machine learning models into real‑time robotic control loops.
- Develop and maintain ROS‑based middleware, optimizing performance and reliability across distributed systems.
- Conduct rigorous testing, simulation, and validation of safety mechanisms under diverse edge‑case scenarios.
- Document system designs, safety cases, and operational procedures for internal and external audits.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering for robotics or autonomous systems.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and ROS with a track record of deploying safety‑critical software.
- Deep understanding of machine learning pipelines, model deployment, and inference optimization.
- Experience with safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508) and formal verification techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
