About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of utility substations ranging from 15 kV to 500 kV, producing detailed schematics, layout plans, and construction documents.
- Develop and review MicroStation (V8 or newer) models, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and adherence to client specifications.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including protection engineers, civil designers, and project managers, to integrate electrical designs into overall project scopes.
- Perform load flow, short‑circuit, and coordination studies to validate system performance and reliability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of substation design experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT candidates must demonstrate a clear path to licensure.
- Proficiency in MicroStation (V8 or newer) for detailed drafting and 3‑D modeling.
- Strong knowledge of high‑voltage power system standards, equipment specifications, and utility regulations.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
