Senior Staff UX Designer (Metaverse Social Experiences)

What You’ll Do

Epic Games is looking for a Senior Staff UX Designer with a passion for building social experiences in the metaverse. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the user experience for new social features and systems across Epic’s ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, artists, and researchers to deliver innovative and intuitive experiences that delight our players.

In this role, you will

• Lead the end-to-end UX design process for key social features and systems, from concept to launch.
• Conduct user research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
• Create wireframes, flowcharts, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design ideas.
• Collaborate with engineers and artists to ensure the technical feasibility and visual quality of designs.
• Advocate for the user throughout the development lifecycle and ensure a consistent, high-quality experience.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to the growth of the design team.
• Contribute to and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all products.

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on social platforms, games, or metaverse experiences.
• Proven ability to lead complex design initiatives and drive consensus across diverse stakeholders.
• Expertise in user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
• Experience working in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for games and understanding of player behaviors and motivations.

Nice to have skills

• Experience with Unreal Engine or other game development tools.
• Experience with design systems and their implementation.
