About the Role
Epic Games is looking for a Senior Staff UX Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating intuitive, engaging, and innovative user experiences that empower creators within our ecosystem, including users of Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers, to define and deliver outstanding user experiences.
What You'll Do
- Lead the UX design process from concept to launch, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate complex technical requirements into elegant and user-friendly designs.
- Advocate for the user, ensuring that user-centered design principles are applied throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions and iterate on solutions.
- Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and specifications.
- Contribute to and evolve our design system to ensure consistency and efficiency across products.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to a culture of design excellence.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX design and game development.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and impact.
- Expertise in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and analyzing data to drive design decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A passion for games and understanding of game development workflows, especially with game engines like Unreal Engine.
- Experience designing for complex creative tools or platforms is a plus.
- Bonus: Experience working on products related to Fortnite or other live service games.
