Lead complex aerospace control system projects as a Senior Staff Engineer, driving requirements definition, validation, and traceability using DOORS, SysML, and model‑based engineering tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and maintain system requirements for advanced aerospace control solutions, ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory needs.
- Lead requirements traceability and verification activities across the product lifecycle using IBM DOORS and SysML models.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional hardware, software, and test teams to translate requirements into detailed designs and test plans.
- Drive Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices, creating and managing functional and logical architectures.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in requirements best practices and tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experience in aerospace or defense systems.
- Proficiency with IBM DOORS (or DOORS Next) and SysML for requirements capture and management.
- Strong background in Model‑Based Systems Engineering, including experience with MATLAB/Simulink and C++ development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects and communicate technical concepts to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL‑STD‑498, DO‑178C, and ARP4754A.
