Epic Games is looking for a Senior Staff Engineer with extensive experience in graphics and GPU programming to join our team. In this role, you will lead the development and optimization of rendering pipelines for Unreal Engine, ensuring cutting-edge performance across a variety of platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize advanced rendering features for Unreal Engine.
- Collaborate with other engineers and artists to integrate new graphics technologies.
- Lead efforts in profiling and optimizing GPU performance across multiple platforms, including PC and consoles.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall technical direction of the graphics team.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in real-time rendering and hardware.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in graphics and GPU programming.
- Expertise in C++ and low-level graphics APIs such as DirectX 12, Vulkan, or Metal.
- Strong understanding of modern rendering pipelines and their optimization.
- Experience with console development (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox, Switch).
- Proficient in debugging, profiling, and optimizing GPU-bound applications.
- Familiarity with shader languages (HLSL, MSL, SPIR-V) and shader compilation pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Unreal Engine development.
- Knowledge of other graphics libraries and tools.
- Strong understanding of computer graphics theory, including real-time rendering, global illumination, and physically based rendering.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and initiatives.
