What You'll Do
The Cloud Infrastructure team is looking for a Senior Staff Engineer focusing on Cloud Networking, with experience in large-scale Cloud environments. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the strategy around how Epic Games builds, operates, and innovates on our global cloud network. You will be a key influencer and leader in the cloud infrastructure organization and will drive the development of the next generation of networking platforms, tools, and services. In this role, you will
- Define and drive the future of cloud networking at Epic Games.
- Design, implement, and operate highly scalable and reliable networking solutions across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand their networking needs and provide expert guidance and support.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
- Drive automation and tooling to streamline network operations and improve efficiency.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex network issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud networking.
What we're looking for
- Expertise in cloud networking concepts and technologies across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, etc.) and network security principles.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and service mesh solutions (e.g., Istio, eBPF).
- Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and network automation.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) for automation and tool development.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Pulumi).
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and networking.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role, driving significant projects and mentoring engineers.
- Experience with API development and integration for network management.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- A passion for performance and optimization.
