Senior staff engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and validating cryptographic and COMSEC solutions for the F‑35 Joint Strike Fighter, ensuring compliance with U.S. government and joint‑force security requirements.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and integrate cryptographic and communication security (COMSEC) systems for the F‑35 Joint Strike Fighter program.
- Translate national and joint cyber‑security requirements into detailed technical specifications and allocation models.
- Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and security evaluations to verify compliance with DoD, NIST, and other government regulations.
- Develop and execute test plans, validation procedures, and certification activities for crypto and COMSEC solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including software, hardware, and mission‑critical stakeholders, to ensure secure, efficient, and user‑friendly implementations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in cryptographic engineering, COMSEC, or related cyber‑security domains, preferably within defense or aerospace programs.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. government security standards (e.g., DoD, NIST, FIPS) and experience applying them to complex systems.
- Proven ability to perform risk assessments, threat modeling, and security validation for high‑assurance platforms.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a track record of delivering secure solutions in multi‑disciplinary environments.
