Senior Space Mission Systems Software Engineer - Varda Space Industries

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate flight‑software for spacecraft subsystems, including guidance, navigation, and control.
• Implement real‑time embedded solutions on Linux‑based RTOS platforms, ensuring deterministic performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and mission teams to define system requirements and verify software against mission objectives.
• Utilize model‑based design (e.g., Simulink, Stateflow) to generate, test, and validate code for critical flight functions.
• Maintain rigorous software configuration management, code reviews, and automated testing pipelines using Git and CI/CD tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in C++ and Python development for embedded or aerospace applications.
• Strong knowledge of real‑time operating systems, low‑level hardware interfaces, and Linux kernel development.
• Proficiency with model‑based design tools and code generation for safety‑critical systems.
• Experience with software verification, validation, and continuous integration in regulated environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven team.
