Lead development of ground‑segment software for space vehicles, delivering real‑time, high‑reliability solutions using C++, Python, Linux and model‑based design to support orbital manufacturing and re‑entry operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance ground‑system software that interfaces with Varda's W‑Series spacecraft.
- Implement real‑time data acquisition, telemetry processing, and command sequencing for launch, on‑orbit, and re‑entry phases.
- Collaborate with hardware, flight‑software, and mission‑operations teams to define interfaces, protocols, and test procedures.
- Apply model‑based design and simulation tools to validate system behavior and support rapid iteration.
- Ensure software reliability and safety through rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and compliance with aerospace standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in C++ and Python development for embedded or real‑time systems.
- Strong background in Linux‑based ground‑segment architectures and spacecraft telemetry/command protocols.
- Proficiency with model‑based design, simulation environments, and version‑control workflows (e.g., Git).
- Experience in aerospace or high‑integrity domains, understanding of safety and reliability practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.
