About the Role

At Nuro, safety isn't a checklist - it's the foundation of everything we build. We're looking for a Senior Systems Safety TPM who can operate at the intersection of functional safety standards, platform integration, and cross-disciplinary engineering to help us deliver a vehicle that earns public trust every mile it drives.

In this role, you'll own safety program execution across hardware, embedded software, and controls domains -  translating ISO 26262 requirements into actionable plans, driving functional safety artifacts from concept through validation, and ensuring our safety case is rigorous, traceable, and audit-ready.

About the Work

Safety Program Management

• Lead end-to-end program execution for functional safety workstreams, coordinating across Controls, HW, and Embedded SW teams.
• Develop and maintain program schedules, risk registers, and cross-functional dependency maps to ensure on-time delivery of safety milestones.
• Own tracking and closure of safety-related action items, open points, and audit findings across the vehicle platform.

Functional Safety & Standards

• Drive the development, review, and maintenance of Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs) in alignment with ISO 26262.
• Support HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment), FMEA, FTA, and safety goal derivation processes in collaboration with systems safety engineers.
• Ensure safety work products are complete, consistent, and compliant with applicable ASIL targets (A–D).

Platform Integration, Testing & Validation

• Partner with integration and validation teams to define safety-relevant test strategies for platform-level and system-level verification.
• Track coverage of safety requirements through integration testing, including HIL/SIL environments and vehicle-level validation activities.
• Identify and escalate gaps between safety requirements and test coverage; drive resolution with engineering owners.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as the connective tissue between Safety, Controls, HW, and Embedded SW — translating safety requirements into engineering deliverables and vice versa.
