The Opportunity
Our client is an AI-powered claims agent on a mission to level the playing field for consumers. They help everyday people get paid for corporate violations ranging from data breaches and privacy issues to antitrust cases. Having recently closed a $3.6M seed round and already processed over 65,000 claims (with a projected $75M+ recovery), they are ready to scale.
As Engineer #2 , you will report directly to the CTO, Jon Chen. This isn’t just a coding role; it’s a foundational role where you will help shape the engineering culture, influence the product roadmap, and build the AI engine that drives consumer justice.
What You’ll Do
Lead 0 to 1 Projects: Take products from initial concept to full production, working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Architect the Stack: Work across a modern stack—Go, React, AWS, and Python—with a focus on creating seamless, high-performance user experiences.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Legal, and Operations to design technical solutions that drive growth and platform reliability.
Set the Bar: As an early hire, you will define engineering best practices, raise the quality of the codebase, and mentor future team members.
What You Bring
Experience: 3–8 years of full-stack software engineering experience, specifically within a startup or as a founder.
Proven Track Record: You have successfully shipped significant products or features from scratch (0 > 1).
Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Go (Golang) , React , TypeScript , and AWS (Lambda, CDK, DynamoDB).
Domain Knowledge: Previous experience in Fintech or LegalTech is highly preferred.
Mindset: Low ego, highly collaborative, and comfortable with the ambiguity of an early-stage startup.
