We have been working alongside Join Parachute, our sister company, in the opening of small market donation centers across the country that will create local donation center careers, opportunities to donate blood products, and provide financial compensation for those donations that will have a positive economic impact in those communities. The need for blood products is growing exponentially and we want to close the gap between supply and demand by empowering organizations with the right tools. Buoy Software is the industry’s answer to unlocking more blood product supply.

In turn, the increase in blood product donations improves a supply level that is at an all time low, and allows for blood-product derived biotherapies to continue to evolve and save lives for those who face life-threatening conditions. Where You Are:

This is a fully remote position open to candidates living in the United States. Buoy is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.

What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Buoy, you'll drive technical excellence across our engineering team - from architecting scalable systems to mentoring engineers and shaping our engineering culture. You'll work closely with product and design partners to build high-impact solutions that advance Buoy's mission. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative, remote-first environment and is passionate about both technical craft and team growth. Specifically, you will:

• Design scalable, maintainable systems aligned with best practices; make and communicate high-level technical decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term goals
• Write, review, and maintain production-grade code; champion coding standards; troubleshoot complex issues across environments; monitor and optimize system performance
