Senior Software Engineer II AI-Native, International
Life360 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join the AI-Native International team, focusing on expanding the product's reach in Latin America, starting with Brazil. This role involves designing and building localized features, adapting existing capabilities, and evolving AI-Native engineering workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong mobile development experience, hands-on experience with LLMs and AI coding tools, and a drive to define new engineering practices.
Life360’s mission is to keep people close to the ones they love. Our category-leading mobile app, Tile tracking devices, and Pet GPS tracker empower members to protect the people, pets, and things they care about most with a range of services, including location sharing, safe driver reports, and crash detection with emergency dispatch. Life360 serves approximately 97.8 million monthly active users (MAU), as of March 31, 2026, across more than 180 countries.
Life360 delivers peace of mind and enhances everyday family life with seamless coordination for all the moments that matter, big and small. By continuing to innovate and deliver for our customers, we have become a household name and the must-have mobile-based membership for families (and those friends who are basically family).
Life360 has more than 500 (and growing!) remote-first employees. For more information, please visit life360.com.
_This role is based in the São Paulo, Brazil metro area. We expect you to meet with local teammates two days a week._
We are building an AI native company where AI is an integral part of how we build and operate. AI tool usage during interviews varies by role. You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency with AI tools, discuss how you leverage AI, or complete interview exercises without AI assistance. Your Recruiter will provide clear guidance as you move through the interview process.
Undisclosed use of AI not previously discussed with or approved by your Recruiter may impact your candidacy.
The International team at Life360 is building the next frontier of meaningful connection — bringing Life360's peace-of-mind platform to families everywhere, regardless of where in the world they live. Our mission is to make the product feel native to every market we enter: localized experiences, regionally relevant features, and the kind of trust that only comes from truly understanding how families in different cultures stay safe, connected, and close. We're expanding Life360's reach beyond its home market so that every family — whether in São Paulo, Berlin, or beyond — has access to the tools that help them navigate the beautiful, chaotic reality of everyday life together.
We are a product-minded, AI-Native engineering team. That means AI isn’t just a tool we use — it’s how we work. We’ve redesigned our team workflows around AI, treating it as a first-class collaborator at every stage: ideation, coding, testing, review, and iteration. We ship faster and go deeper because of it, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help define what that looks like at scale.
You'll own the feature layer that makes Life360 feel native to the markets we're expanding into — starting with Brazil and eventually expanding throughout LATAM. That means taking existing Life360 capabilities and adapting them for local reality: safety-first features tailored to how families in Brazil actually live, alternate payment integrations (think carrier billing and local payment rails alongside the app stores), and the UX decisions that make the product feel built in São Paulo, not exported from San Francisco.
You'll work directly with the International Features PM and report into the Senior Director of International. The roadmap is early and yours to help shape — you'll be one of the first engineers on the ground, partnering closely with products to define what adaptation actually means market by market.
You'll also build and evolve our AI-Native engineering workflows — from how we write code to how we think about team velocity. You'll evolve the standard others follow.
Mobile experience is strongly preferred (iOS or Android), though exceptional full-stack engineers are also encouraged to apply.
This role is a full-time CLT position, employed through our Employer of Record (EOR) partner in Brazil.
We use AI coding tools as a professional standard on this team. Here's what that means in practice:
